Alex Cigale’s poems have appeared in Colorado, Green Mountains, North American, Tampa, and The Literary Reviews, and online in Asymptote, Drunken Boat, McSweeney’s, and QarrtsiluniHis translations from the Russian can be found in Cimarron Review, Cortland Review, Kenyon Review Online, Literary Imagination, Modern Poetry in Translation, New England Review, PEN America, TriQuarterly and World Literature in Translation. He is on the editorial boards of Plume, The St. Petersburg Review, and Third Wednesday. His Russian Absurd: the Selected Writings of Daniil Kharms is forthcoming from Northwestern University Press in 2016–2017. In 2015, he was awarded an NEA in Literary Translation Fellowship for his work on Mikhail Eremin of the St. Petersburg “philological school.” He guest edited the Spring 2015 Russia Issue of the Atlanta Review and blogged about it in Best American Poetry.
